This week'sMixtape Monday we delve into the wide world of playlist culture with lists put together by some of the most important tastemakers in music.

Kicking things off with a trip in the way back machine, we jump into the ridiculously good 1998 Raps playlist from TIDAL, which may or may not be the handiwork of Elliott Wilson and BDot. Charlamagne Tha God countered with 1994 raps, so we had to oblige. EbTheCeleb gives a taste of her faves with What Im Blasting and Peter Rosenberg waxes nostalgic with The Best of Low Budget.

Timmhotep brings up the rear with the wRap Caveat playlist. The second half of this weeks roundup also includes playlists from Questlove, Orion Anakaris, Ninetofive Records, Spotifys Mjeema Pickett and the legendary Reggie Osse a.k.a.Combat Jack, who paid tribute to Larry Levan of the famed Paradise Garage with nearly three hours of jams.

TIDAL - 1998 Raps

If you were lucky enough to be kicking up dust in 1998, you know how important the year was to rap, from the rise of The Roc to the gigantic presence of the No Limit and Cash Money Records rosters. TIDAL takes it back.

1998 was one of hip-hops most successful and impactful years. Still reeling from the passing of Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac, rap music turned tragedy to triumph as evidenced by DMXs explosive launch, JAY-Zs breakthrough blockbuster album, Lauryn Hills emotive opus, and the powerful business acumen of Master P. But these werent the only stars to shine and we can prove it. Here are 100 tunes that truly showcase the everlasting sonic power of our culture.

Charlamagne Tha God - 1994 Raps

The Breakfast Clubs Charlamagne Tha God pays tribute to another great year in hip-hop with the 1994 Raps playlist.

Peace! I had to stop! It's too many!! Really Great Year In Rap!! BIG, Nas, Outkast, The Roots, M.O.P. all dropped their debut albums!! Era was single heavy so a lot of albums that dropped in 93 put out singles and videos in 94. This was an amazing year!! This like 5 disc of music!! Enjoy!!" Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club co-host and author, Charlamagne Tha God

Timmhotep - wRap Caveat

Just days removed from the annual observance of Yams Day, Timmhotep Akus wRap Caveat playlist reflects a bit of the genius of the mastermind of the A$AP movement, A$AP Yams. Its also a really good excuse to get acquainted with ace music journalist, Timmhotep, according to his collection of new and recent jams.

From Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning with Laura Stylez and Rosenberg to Real Late, Peter Rosenberg is a fixture of New York City radio, podcasting and hip-hop culture. Before NYC, however, Rosenberg was one of a handful of talents associated with the DMV area collective known as the Low Budget Crew. Rosenberg serves up a clinic on their sound with the Classic Joints: The Best of Low Budget playlist.

Questlove - The Keith O Challenge

Last fall Questlove challenged Keith Olbermanns myopic assessment of hip-hop with a 201-track playlist entitled The Keith O Challenge. Were bringing it back for a few reasons. First, its Questlove. How could we not? Secondly, a 201-song exploration of the funk that inspired rap? Have some. Third? Its still bigger than hip-hop, and now more than ever the world should be reminded that black music has always been a protest music.

Ninetofive Records - Worldwide Beatmakers

Ninetofive Records takes their love for instrumental music and beat making culture seriously. It should be no surprise, then, that the label devoted to cultivating the beat scene worldwide would have a playlist full of beats by some of the dopest established and up-and-coming producers in the game. Kaytranada anchors the list, which also features Es-K, Elijah Nang, falcxne and Knowsum.

Combat Jack - Larry Levan Tribute

Last but certainly not least, a tribute to Larry Levan and his legendary tenure at NYCs Paradise Garage from Reggie Osse aka Combat Jack. This playlist is a trip back into the heyday of the venue Combat Jack referred to as the G.O.A.T. New York nightclub. Moreover, in the wake of Combat Jacks passing, it is a sonic window into his formative years. RIP to Larry Levan and Combat Jack.
