Travis Scott Only Agreed to Perform at the Super Bowl if the NFL Donated to a Social Justice Charity
Travis Scott and Big Boi will be on that Super Bowl stage.
Back in December, it was confirmedthat Travis Scott would be joining Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl LIII halftime performancein Atlanta next month.
Well, that performanceis coming with a price. According to Billboard, Travis only agreed to the performanceif the NFL made a joint donation toDream Corps, a social justice organization founded by Van Jones in 2014.
Scott and the NFL teamed up to give the organization$500,000.
In a statement, Scott said:
I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in...I know being an artist that its in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation.I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.

It's been well documented that artists were reluctant to perform at the SuperBowl, allegedly over the NFL's treatment of Colin Kaepernick. And it was reported that JAY-Z was trying to talk Scott out of performingat the Super Bowl. (It should be noted that Van Jones is signed to Roc Nation.)
Travis Scott won't be the only rapper performingat the Super Bowl. Legendary Atlanta rapper Big Boi will also make an appearanceduring the halftime show. Big Boi made the announcement on his Instagram page.
