In an interview with NBC's Today show, Michael Jordan says he thinks the two-time MVP still has work to do.

NBC Today's Craig Melvin recently sat down with Michael Jordan for an exclusive interview. The two discussed Jordan's new life as a grandfather, as well as philanthropic efforts, including the two Novant Health clinics he recently funded in Charlotte.

Unsurprisingly, the topic of basketball came up. Melvin asked Jordan about a list of players he claimed would be unbeatable in a pickup game. In 2013, the list included former Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen, Hakeem Olajuwon, Magic Johnson, and former North Carolina teammate James Worthy. Melvin asked if his response had changed at all in six years, and Jordan declined.

"So, Steph Curry shouldn't be offended when he watches this," Melvin continued. "I hope not," Jordan replied. "He's still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet though. He's not."

The response quickly created buzz on social media. Even Magic Johnson commented on it.

"Everyone relax. We know Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer...Michael Jordan couldn't say it because he would get fined by the league," Johnson tweeted.

In the time frame since Jordan's list, Steph Curry has established a list of Hall of Fame-worthy accolades. Since 2015, he's won three NBA titles, made six consecutive All-Star Game appearances, and won two Most Valuable Player trophies.
