The tournament will consist of 16 total players.

The sports world came to a screeching halt two weeks ago, as the coronavirus pandemic spread throughout the country. In the wake of leagues suspending activities, at least one league is planning to move along despite the circumstances.

The Big3, Ice Cube’s 3-on-3 league, has partnered with Endemol–the producers of the hit reality show Big Brother. The two parties plan to create a reality show based around a basketball tournament. The show is tentatively titled “Big Brother: Big3.”

According to Big3 sources, 16 players and referees will live under quarantine in the same Los Angeles-area home throughout the tournament. The league will test all parties involved before the tournament begins. If the idea is successful, the league will bring the tournament back as a pre-season event in upcoming seasons.

“Our No. 1 concern is safety,” Big3 founder Jeff Kwatinetz told Yahoo Sports. “Aside from being able to work with the best creative producers possible for this type of show, they’re also the right people to ensure safety and health because they’ve done this for over 20 years in a hundred countries.”

Former NBA stars who currently play in the Big3 could possibly participate in the tournament. Names like Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, Gilbert Arenas and more are currently under contract with the league.

Big Brother canceled its Canadian season March 17 after concerns about the pandemic spread worldwide.
