The Round-Up: Best Songs of The Week ft. Shay Lia, Aminé, Miguel, and More [Playlist]

With production points from Pharrell, Kaytranada, Mark Ronson and more.

Hard weeks make for heroic Fridays. Hope yours is nothing short of it.

This seven-day stretch tested us in ways we were perhaps unprepared to face. We bid the Queen adieu, read all of Omarosa's White House receipts,  and got lost a couple times over in Miss E. Badu's entrancing "Green Eyes." But we're on the other end of it now, and there's a helluva score.

Which can only mean The Round-Up's returned with a bit of catharsis to cap the work week.

Release day's treated us well, with new projects from Mitski, Young Thug, Ariana Grande, and a trap-happy surprise from Aminé. The singles soared, providing myriad earworms and ample bops for the post-week dial. Disco and house are well-repped with Miguel and Mark Ronson's "Vote," along with a new Shay Lia x Kaytranada cut that follows the producer's four-track Soundcloud drop, featuring Sade and Tribe edits. The ever-intangled worlds of pop and r&b continue to dance with Rina Sawayama's electric "Cherry," Tirzah's lo-fi and lovely "Holding On," Connan Mockasin's woozy barside wonder "Con Conn Was Impatient," and DRAM's smooth-as-can-be "Prototype" cover. And the bars flowed unfettered from Philly's Chynna, The Bay's Koran Streets, and NYC's own, Maliibu Miitch.
