In case you missed the memo, The Round-Up is back with all of the week's most essential sounds.
READ: Janelle Monaé is Redefining What It Means to Be a Genius
While it was mostly a quiet one, sans Scorpion and Spotify's ride-or-dying for the falling 6 God, the week wasn't short on fresh frequencies. Surprise releases from Future and Meek Mill lead the week'strap triumphs, with Lils and Youngs galore filling the narrow spaces between blazing hi-hats and 808 bumps. Elsewhere in the r&b multiverse, Ella Mai's smash "Boo'd Up" sees a yet another take from Nicki Minaj and Quavo, while odd-ball guitar genius MonoNeon offers up a slick one-off, and Sunni Colon's latest leans heavy on the Hammond organ drum sequence a la Timmy Thomas. The UK steals the show, though, with Lava La Rue, Fatima, and newcomer, Pip Millett, all dropping intoxicating doses of late-90s r&b, owning their wave wholly and with devotion.
