Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Slip into the weekend with a fresh haul of heat.

Happy Release Day, good people. With the exception of Black Milk's new studio outing, DiVE (and let's face it, Drake's Soundcloud dump of a compilation,) the week's kinda short on long-plays. But the loosies and new album signals are more than ample. So let's get right to it.

Leading the sequence, Rapsody plucked D'Angelo out of hiding and The GZA from orbit on the inaugural (9th Wonder-produced,) offering from her upcoming EVE project. Channel Tres ditched the four-to-the-floor cadence for something just as buoyant on the slickly-defused, JPEGMAFIA-assisted single "Black Moses." BROCKHAMPTON returned with a warbling roll call ahead of their new project, GINGER. Snoh Aalegra untangles a "Situationship" with a little tenderness on her latest transmission. And Raphael Saadiq fit a junkie's itch with an elastic bass groove on what has to be one the year's most deceptively depressing bops. But that's just half the script.
