Dedrick D. Williams who is linked to XXXTentacion's untimely death in 2018 penned a letter asking a Florida judge to release him on bond.

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the U.S., yet another high profile suspect has asked for a release from jail due to dire conditions. Dedrick D. Williams, who was arrested in connection to the death of late rapper XXXTentacion has asked a judge to free him from jail on bond. 

TMZ obtained a letter from Williams addressed to Judge Michael A. Usan who represents the 17th Judicial Court in Florida. In it, Williams who is one of four suspects indicted by a grand jury alleges he’s afraid of contracting the deadly virus. He makes it clear that he is wary of the virus since he has a weak immune system. According to the documents Williams also shares “a deputy at the Broward County main jail infected an inmate, he also claims no one is being tested. 

At one point in the letter, Williams adds, “I am sending you this letter to save my life.” He also wrote, “Never have I missed court or failed a drug test since being in your courtroom.” Williams even goes on to explicitly state that he hopes the judge and his family are safe. 

TMZ’s report points out that Williams is currently in jail due to violating probation, he is still claiming his innocence in relation to XXXTentacion’s murder in 2018. He is asking the judge “to allow him to bond out at least until the pandemic blows over.”

Dedrick D. Williams, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Robert Allen were all indicted by a grand jury for first-degree murder. Additionally, each of them was charged with armed robbery with a firearm. 

At the moment, the judge hasn’t responded. As of Monday, April 27, the number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. is nearing 1 million.
