Wyclef Jean Announces New Album w/ Radio-Ready Single "Hendrix"

Kinda hard to imagine it's already been nearly ten years since the release of Wyclef Jean's The Carnival Vol. 2: Memoirs Of An Immigrant (just let that sink in for a second.) The time since that album's release has been marked by controversy and lawsuits in regards to his "Yéle Haiti" charity organization, which initially set out to provide support to those touched by the devastation of Hurricane Jeane in 2004. And while there doesn't seem to have been any resolution on that front, it appears The Fugees founder is trucking on with a new album, The Carnival III: Road to Clefication, which has to be the one of the most hilarious names for an album we've heard in some time. Nonetheless, he's debuted the album's lead-off single "Hendrix" via Complex, bringing his half-rap-half-sung vocal stylings to the 2010s over a minimalistic, trap-infused production, narrating his ascent from less-than-ideal beginnings. The new album is slated to arrive later this year with contributions from Avicii, Afrojack and Emeli Sandé, amongst others. Hear the latest from Wyclef Jean down below and hold tight for more details on his forthcoming eleventh studio album.
