Wyclef Jean Begins A Busy 2017 With New 'J'ouvert' EP

Wyclef Jean Announces New Album w/ Sparse New Single "Hendrix"Wyclef Jean

This is an exciting weekend for new music with releases by Big Sean, Sampha and Syd, but Wyclef Jean has dropped a new project as well.

The Fugees legend has released a new 13-song EP called J'ouvert. The project features previously-released songs "If I Was President 2016," "I Swear" featuring Young Thug, "Life Matters" and "Hendrix." This week he also released another song from the album, the rock and Caribbean-hued "Holding On The Edge" featuring Cincinnati, Ohio band Walk The Moon. Listen to the song below.

The digital version of J'ouvert also has four exclusive tracks, including a cover of the French song "Ne Me Quitte Pas'" by Jacque Brel.

Even though the projects are just now coming, Wyclef had a busy 2016 with the aforementioned releases and as the inspiration for Young Thug's song "Wyclef Jean." J'ouvert is his first of two projects of 2017, with Carnival III: Road To Clefication scheduled for a summer release, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of his classic debut The Carnival.
