Women's March To Host #WomenForSyria Vigil In New York City
The world has become a more frightening place with President Agent Orange at the helm. To resist the racist, xenophobic, outlandish administration — Women’s March was founded to be an added voice to the growing movement around the globe. As part of a coordinated national day of action pegged to the issues going on in Syria, the Women’s March will be holding a #WomenForSyria vigil in New York City’s Union Square on Apr. 13.
Attempting to draw awareness and attention to the 500,000 Syrians that have been killed as a result of Syria’s civil war and the more than six million Syrians who have been displaced without a home — the #WomenForSyria vigil will call on President Drumpf and his cabinet to let in at least 75,000 refugees into the U.S. to help alleviate some of the suffering that Syrian men, women and children are experiencing on a daily basis.
Linda Sarsour and other Women’s March leaders, refugee organizations, elected officials, community supporters and allies will join together in unison at New York City’s Union Square beginning at 6:00 p.m. EST. We encourage all those in or around the Tri-state area to help send a clear message to the White House and stand in solidarity with refugees who are escaping the very same terrorism that we here in America are claiming to fight.
