Update two (11/20:) 6ix9ine's lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, tells TMZ that the Brooklyn rapper will not be in protective custody. 6ix9ine will be in general population at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.

It's a place the U.S. Justice Department called "extremely dangerous, violent, or escape-prone."

Update one: News site TMZ has obtained the 17-page indictment. It is not looking good for 6ix9ine. The Brooklyn rapper is facing six counts; the most serious count is a discharging a firearm while committing a crime charge.

6ix is facing a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison. He could potentially get life in prison.

6ix9ine is in a deep hole.

Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine was arrested Sunday night by ATF agents in NYC, according to TMZ. The rapper, his ex-manager Shottie — who he literally fired last week — and two former associates were arrested on racketeering and firearms charges.

According to TMZ one of the people arrested was Faheem Walter, also known as Crippy. (Walter made headlines a couple of weeks ago when he was shot during an altercation with a Tekashi associate.)

According to TMZ, the crackdown was a joint effort by ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security.

This latest update makes it seem certain that 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, will be going to prison. Tekashi is currently on probation;  in 2015 he pleaded guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance.

Just last month, a New York judge gave 6ix9ine four years of probation; one of the stipulations is that he had to avoid future arrests.
