As the foremost authority on all things low end, Thundercat has blessed the bass for some of the best in the biz. You've seen him line up with Kendrick Lamar on the 2015 masterpiece To Pimp A Butterfly, thump from the wings with George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, not to mention John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers and that's just this year alone. Today we turn our focus to an impromptu improvised jam with Crystal that went down during RBMA's recent Montreal takeover; the perfect place to see and hear a virtuosic talent at work and in full-improv mode.

Rumor has it Cat's been hard at work on his third studio album, though nothing outside of "Bus In These Streets" has surfaced in the way of new music. We'll be sure to keep you posted on all things regarding Thundercat's new album, but in the meantime, kick off the house shoes and press play for a clinic in cosmic chops courtesy of the good folks at Red Bull Music Academy and their Montreal installation (which gave us that incredibly insightful Kaytranada lecture a few weeks back.)
