The first two Avengers films were already larger than life, and Vin Diesel says the third will include a huge addition: the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Diesel, who co-starred as Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy film in 2014, revealed the news in a Facebook Live stream on Friday.

“The Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War,” Diesel said, “and that’s incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting.”

Guardians of the Galaxy is a team of superheroes from Marvel Comics, and the basis behind a 2014 film that starred Diesel, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Bradley Cooper. While the movie had an ensemble cast of actors, some were uncertain whether it would do well because none of the characters had the star power of hit franchises like Iron-Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America.

But the film grossed $773.7 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing superhero film of the year. It was loved so much because it carved its own niche among superhero films: it had a unique sense of humor, but didn't skimp on the action and acting. The crew of ragtag heroes captured hearts in a way that differed from franchise player superheroes who had their own movies.

The group will join the Avengers, which is already a star-studded franchise. The second film, 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, included Captain America, Iron-Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. While this year's Captain America: Civil War wasn't part of the Avengers series, it was still a continuation of the Avengers storyline, and it introduced viewers to Black Panther.

There isn't much information about the storyline of Avengers: Infinity War, but we already know that a lot will be going on. According to ComicBookMovie.com, it will be Marvel Studios' first two-part film, and it will star Josh Brolin as the supervillian Thanos. And, according to co-director Joe Russo, the film will feature 67 characters.

It's a lot to integrate, but with the way Marvel Studios has knocked the Avengers series out of the park, they've earned the benefit of the doubt.
