Video: Miguel Rising Icons Mini-doc

If you had put all your 2010 earnings on Miguel as the artist to watch for 2011 you'd be rich right now. In spite of the incredible splash he's made over the last year and a half, the young singer has already had ups and downs in his career (being passed over for Grammy recognition, for instance, much to his vocal chagrin) and still has plenty of room to grow. Which makes him sort of an ideal subject for this Grey Goose Rising Icons featurette, allowing us to watch him find himself as a mature artist right in front of our eyes. The three-part mini-movie documents his creative process on the sessions for his sophomore LP (due later this year) from songwriting to engineering his own vocals along with healthy doses of performance, rehearsals, interviews and strategy sessions with industry legends Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow.
