Tim Gent Speaks His Mind In The Fiery Cut, "Lady America"
“The song is really just my observation of what’s going on around me,” explained Tim Gent, an MC from Clarksville, Tennessee. Injustice, police-sanctioned killings of unarmed POCs, an absolutely insane election season and racism on a whole other level are just a few things that this 23-year-old has observed. Feeling the motivation from the issues plaguing the country, Tim Gent felt that it was only right to speak truth to power in his newest cut entitled, “Lady America,” which features vocalist Drisana DeSpain.
The first single from Tim Gent’s forthcoming The Love Campaign project, he laces the almost four-minute track with gems and nuggets of truth meant to free those shackled by ignorance from their mental slavery. “So much confusion and turmoil is going on [in America] and the verses address what I see people are dealing with,” Tim Gent said in a press release. “The hook is where the hope comes, though: the triumph. I just want people [to] enjoy this record during what seems to be a dark time and I hope it brightens up the days for them.”
“Lady America” is worth sharing with your earholes if you care about looking out for those who are or have been oppressed. The Love Campaign is a solid follow-up to his breakout effort, Clarksville Nights, which came out in 2015.
