Thundercat Shares New Song w/ Mono/Poly
“Now this song is about having a… basically… when you… get stuck… I don’t know, do I just play it?”
Thundercat, while docked on the shores of Australia for a little stay in the outback, sat with FBi Radio to chop it up a bit this morning with host, Chris Twite. Their discussion touched on the pearls of wisdom he'd absorbed from his work with Flying Lotus and Erykah Badu, going on to share inspirational cuts from the likes of David Bowie and Paul McCartney, gushing over their greatness and influence.
But it was when Cat shared an unreleased cut of his own that things took a turn down a particularly cosmic avenue. Right around the 14:00 mark, an arpeggiated synth line creeps in, signaling what's to come. Then comes the knock and bustle of yet another astrally-projected disco-ish joint with Cat's low-end chops mimicking his upper-register howls. He notes, that the track also features production from frequent collaborator,Mono/Poly, who lent his touch to Thundercat's recent mini-LP The Beyond/Where The Giants Roam. Hit the link below to hear a funky new cut from the Cat and hold tight for his next transmission.
