Pharrell and Chad Hugo's The Neptunes are getting a well-deserved honor this year.

The inductees for this year's Songwriters Hall of Fame has been released. Among those being inducted include The Neptunes (the production duo made up of Pharrell and Chad Hugo), The Isley Brothers and Mariah Carey. Songwriters are eligible for induction only after writing hit songs for at least 20 years.

The artists will officially be inducted at the Songwriters Hall’s 51st annual Induction and Awards Dinner on June 11 in New York City.

Hugo and Pharrell have made a number of hits since starting out in 1994. The duo was discovered by Teddy Riley at a local contest.

"They didn’t have anything conceptual. They was just flowing, ciphering, and creating on the spot. That’s what I was looking for," Riley said of the pair in an interview with Okayplayer. "I wasn’t looking for the Whitney Houston singer or somebody who sung a Luther Vandross song or George Benson’s 'Greatest Love.' Wasn’t looking for any of that. I specifically was looking for creative people, and that was the first talent show where I had to overrule the judge and say, 'Those guys are the winners, Pharrell and Chad.'"

In related news, Hugo recently revealed that he and Pharrell have been in the studio with a handful of artists.

“We’re doing a couple of things,” Hugo said about The Neptunes. “There’s a videogame soundtrack that’s in the works right now that I can’t speak about, I’m not supposed to, but uh, it’s in the works right now. We just did some work with Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Blink 182, Lil Uzi Vert, Brandy, Ray-J, Snoh Alegra, G-Eazy…”

Hugo also revealed that Pharrell is working on a new record, and described it as “real island-like and different.”
