Chance The Rapper became a star this year with his brilliant album Coloring Book, and today he continues his 2016 reign with the star-studded Magnificent Coloring Day festival.
Magnificent Coloring Day, which begins at 2 p.m. EST, is the first-ever music festival at U.S. Cellular Field, the stadium where the Chicago White Sox play ball. Along with making history in its setting, the festival has a star-studded line-up too: Chance, Skrillex, Lil Wayne, Tyler the Creator, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Alicia Keys, John Legend, 2 Chainz and Francis and the Lights are all slated to perform.
The festival will be streamed exclusively on Tidal. You must be a subscriber to stream the whole festival; non-members can stream a two-minute preview below.
Chance The Rapper has proven himself as a memorable live performer who is able to rise to special occasions. He’s provided special moments on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The ESPYs, Good Morning America and Lollapalooza. With Magnificent Coloring Day being his first festival, the first at U.S. Cellular Field and a show in his hometown, we’re expecting some surprises from Lil Chano From 79th.
It’s all just another stride on Chance’s victory lap in 2016. Coloring Book was the first streaming-only album to chart on the Billboard 200, he’s seen as the inspiration behind the Grammy Awards changing its rules to make streaming albums to qualify for nomination, and his appearance on Kanye West’s “Ultralight Beam” is a candidate for verse of the year.
