Noticeably absent from older sister Beyonce‘s epic visual poem, music video, visual album, fodder for a million plus essays for content creators, album, and film Lemonade, it looks like Solange is going to be back in our timelines soon with a new project, according to a post made to Instagram. Why the absence was especially odd was that much of the visual album took place in New Orleans, the adopted city of Solange. Perhaps the singer was busy working on the aforementioned new album? Regardless of the non-appearance, we’re just happy a new project is on the way. Solange’s last solo album, the 7 track EP True was released back in 2012 and co produced by frequent collaborator Dev Hynes of Blood Orange. It’s been a minute.
Peep Solange’s Instagram post below where she recaps her life in all of its ups and downs and makes the announcement of the new project below. As always, make sure to check back for any upcoming details on the new album. And Happy 30th Birthday Solange!
“I say all of that to say…don’t eveeer let anyone write your story for you. They can talk, they can doubt, and they can say what they wanna, but only you have the words to narrate this ting we call life.”
