After years behind the scenes, West Coast singer/songwriter SiR is steadily coming into view. A man with a warm voice that transfixes right from first contact, SiR has written for the likes of Bilal, Melanie Fiona, Jill Scott, Robert Glasper and more.
With songs based around chords that gently float over contorting beats, SiR's music is like looking out at deep space through the porthole of a candlelit space capsule.
SiR sings of getting lifted (and perhaps a bit faded) as a means of escaping conflict on his new single, "In The Sky," which features production work from Stones Throw's Knxwledge. With SiR's inviting melodies, relaxed raps courtesy of Inglewood-dweller Fat Ron and the kick drum double-taps that have become Knxwledge's calling card, "In The Sky" is a means of achieving instant levitation. You'll never want this drift to end.
SiR will release his debut full length, Seven Sundays, on July 31st via Fresh Selects, and the record features additional production credits from DK The Punisher, Chris Dave, Tiffany Gouche, J LBs and more.
