Let's talk about Sean Nicholas Savage for a second, shall we? Aside from opening up the baddest park jam on the planet tomorrow night, the kid's been quietly making a name for himself south of his Montreal home. The stirring visual set for his latest menaced-pop single "Darkness" is varnished with washed-out industrial era photographs, played against a sonic stamp that instantly recalls a slurred take on '80s synth-ballads, cascading with parlor pianos, strutting a submerged bounce and forging a sound that is deceptively sophisticated.

With an output that seems unparalleled for a 28 year old songwriter (eight albums since 2008) it's no wonder he's cemented himself in left-field circles , garnering co-signs from Dev Hynes, Mac DeMarco and the like. It should also go without saying that the madness of his frequency seems perfectly in tune with the electro-acoustic soul of Moses Sumney and the lo-fi funk of Blood Orange, and the meeting of the three upon one stage this Saturday is a sight to be seen. So be sure to get there nice and early as the fun gets going at 7. Get familiar with the "Darkness" of Sean Nicholas Savage below. Cop his Bermuda Waterfall LP via Arbutus Records today.
