Scarface recently revealed that he tested positive for the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19).
In an interview with Geto Boys bandmate Willie D, Scarface said he learned that he had tested positive for the virus on Wednesday evening after months of treatment. He also said that he had been tested twice for the virus but that the first test had been lost.
“This whole three weeks has been an ordeal Will,” he said. “It’s the craziest shit I’ve ever done and seen in my life, you know? I’ve been to the point where I just felt like I was gonna die, bro.”
“It started off with pneumonia in both of my lungs and three or four days later my kidneys failed,” he explained elsewhere in the interview. “Three or four days after that they tell me I can’t move, I’m quarantined…I gotta wait until this subsides so I can see what’s going on with my kidneys now.”
During the interview, Scarface also spoke on being asthmatic while enduring coronavirus symptoms, as well as noted that he contracted the virus despite not going out much.
“People out there thinking this shit is a game, you don’t want to play with this,” he said. “…I don’t see how nobody can even wanna play them games.”
Last year, Scarface ran for a seat on City Council in Houston.
Earlier this week, fellow Houston rapper Slim Thug also tested positive for coronavirus.
