After calling out Donald Trump‘s immigration ban and clapping back at Azealia Banks over the weekend, Rihanna has started the new week with a look at her new film Ocean’s Eight.
“First looQ at #Oceans8. Coming summer 2018,” Rihanna tweeted, with a promo photo from the film. The photo shows Rihanna, on a subway train in New York City with her seven co-stars: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina.
Ocean’s Eight is the spinoff of the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy of comedy heist films, which saw master thief Danny Ocean (George Clooney) leading ensemble casts that included Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, and others. In Ocean’s Eight, Bullock reportedly plays the sister of Clooney’s character from the trilogy. Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Pleasantville, Seabiscuit) is directing, and Stephen Soderbergh, who produced the trilogy, is back as producer for the new film.
Aside from paparazzi photos of the set, details have been scarce so far. But we have an idea of when the film will be released, and if this promo shot is any indication, it appears that it will have the same sleek, stylish aesthetic that helped make the trilogy such a classic.
