The concert pays homage to the Black Lily Music series and Okayplayer’s impact.

Red Bull officially announces True Notes, inspired by the Black Lily Music series featuring Jamila Woods, Amber Mark, Mereba and Jasmine Solano in Philadelphia.

Hosted at the Warehouse at Watts the celebration will also pay homage to Okayplayer’s impact. True Notes is inspired by the Black Lily Music series which was created in 1999 by Rich Nichols, Mercedes Martinez and Tracey Moore. It was a weekly fixture that helped launched the careers of Jill Scott, Floetry and Jaguar Scott.

True Notes is slated to be an intimate genre-bending journey highlighting a lineup of moving female artists. Headlining the evening is Chicago songstress and activist Jamila Woods fresh off of her release of her critically acclaimed album LEGACY! LEGACY!

New York-based singer-producer Amber Mark will also be a part of the show following up on her refreshing EP Conexāo. Philadelphia raised singer-songwriter Mereba who raps, produces and plays guitar will also be a part of the night. Her debut album The Jungle Is The Way Out, out earlier this year showcased her many talents. DJ Jasmine Solano will also be another notable addition to the night, she’s a host of the MTV series “Scratch The Surface.”

Red Bull Presents: True Notes will take place on December 6th at the Warehouse at Watts in Philadelphia at 8 p.m. EST. To purchase tickets, head to the official concert website. More information is available at Red Bull’s website.
