Red Bull Music Academy's RBMA Radio Headed To Atlanta

Throughout the years Atlanta has gradually become an export for great and influential artists: OutKast, Usher, T.I., Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Young Thug, Migos, Future, Metro Boomin — the list goes on and on.

Celebrating the city's local music scene, Red Bull Music Academy's RBMA Radio is heading to Atlanta this August, hosting several different events that put the spotlight on Atlanta artists from both the past and present.

RBMA Radio: Live From Atlanta "offers a deep examination of the city's storied past and the artists pushing Atlanta forward." The impromptu studio will be set up at Patchwerk Studios, where albums such as ATLiensTrap MusikMy Way and others were recorded.

Some of the more notable events happening during the week long occasion include:

Atlanta Mixtape Gods with DJ Drama, Don Cannon and DJ Sense: A roundtable discussion that'll have the three producers and DJs reflecting on their careers and their roles in Atlanta's rise to preeminence in the hip hop world.

A Conversation with Sleepy Brown: A good portion of OutKast and Goodie Mob's catalog owes itself to Sleepy Brown. As one of the producers a part of Organized Noize, Sleepy Brown helped craft hits for TLC, Ludacris, Bubba Sparxxx, Brandy and Killer Mike, while also embarking on his own solo career. The artist will have a public chat with RBMA followed by a live performance where he'll be playing The Vinyl Room (an often overlooked Organized Noize album released in 1998) in its entirety, with members of his old band Sleepy's Theme.

United States of Bass with Big Freedia, Mr. Collipark, DJ Toomp and More: Celebrating pioneers of low-end sounds from both Atlanta and beyond, this dance party will include legendary ATL hip hop producer DJ Toomp and Organized Noize collaborator DJ Jelly, as well as New Orleans bounce diva Big Freedia and Jersey club producer UNiiQU3.
