Earlier this evening on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Questlove stepped away from the drum throne and onto the interviewee’s couch. The interview was to discuss Questlovle’s recently released book, something to food about: Exploring Creativity with Innovative Chefs (buy it here). However, as you’d expect with these two long-time friends, the interview quickly went in another direction.
In the first clip, The Mighty Afro talks about his anxiety about being on the couch for the first time (and the dental issues it has caused). After that, Jimmy and Questlove re-live Questo’s hilarious “spit-take” moment on the show, and then they tell the story of when Jimmy first won The Roots over on UCLA’s campus. From there, Questlove takes some time to speak a little more in-depth on the inspiration behind the book. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you cop that.
