In case you missed the memo: Roots Picnic is headed back to Philly for its 10th installment this summer. In true form, this year’s outing at Penn Landing is expertly-curated by the Illa Fifth, pulling no stops. Solange, Lil Wayne, Thundercat and a headlining set from Pharrell and The Roots are just a grip of what you can expect come June 3rd.
Though it’s already been officially announced, here’s a little animated feature from Questlove and Black Thought that finally captures the pains of picking the perfect bill. The announcement follows Roots Picnic’s inaugural NYC session back in October; a love letter to the sleepless city featuring sets from D’Angelo, John Mayer, Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne and so many more that currently or previously called it home. Stay tuned as details arrive for our second run in Bryant Park. Tickets are on-sale now.
