Prince Was Slated To See An Addiction Specialist The Day After His Death

Precisely two weeks after the loss of Prince, details are only now beginning to come forth surrounding the icon's untimely death. According to Minneapolis Public Radio, a lawyer for California-based addiction specialist, Dr. Howard Kornfeld, spoke at a news conference yesterday morning, stating that Prince's representatives had reached out to his office on April 20th to schedule an appointment for April 22nd, the day after Prince was found dead in Paisley Park. Kornfeld claims to have dispatched his son to the Chanhassen, MN estate where he was instructed to meet Prince and convince him to enroll in the Recovery Without Walls treatment center in Mill Valley, CA.

Kornfeld arrived too late and was allegedly the one who placed the emergency 911 call to authorities reporting Prince unresponsive in the elevator where he was later pronounced dead. And while the absence of a toxicology report prohibits us from concluding that Prince's death was in any way drug related, this would be the first piece of credible information to imply that to be the case. It has been said that Prince had been treating chronic hip pain with opiate pain killers, but again, without an official report, it's hard to even comment on how severe of an addiction he may or may not have had. A toxicology report is due any day now, so please bear with us as more information makes its way in the days to come.
