Here’s one way to liven up your work week. Hip-hop heavyweights PRhyme (aka DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9″) are just a couple days away from the deluxe edition re-release of their self-titled LP, and to whet our appetites they’ve been rolling out bonus tracks featuring some of the most talented MCs on earth. Previously we’ve heard MF Doom and Phonte link up with the fellas on the hard-knocking joint “Highs & Lows,” and an extended version of their own “Beastly” featuring Logic, and today the album-add-on trifecta is complete. Young Brooklyn superstar Joey Bada$$ joins PRhyme on the new cut “Golden Era,” and boy is it ever a beautiful thing.
Speaking with Noisey, DJ Premier has reveled his personal jazz vinyl favorites with a list that includes Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew, Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, some Herbie Hancock, Cannonball Adderley and more. Listen to the new cut below (trust us, you’ll enjoy it), and be on the look out–the deluxe version of PRhyme drops this Friday, December 11th. Preemo and Royce are also planning to hit a few East Coast spots this coming February, so scope out the live dates after the jump.
