It’s been a minute since we caught up with the good folks of Phony PPL. The warmer months saw them rocking at Summerstage and SOBs, sharing liquid loosies and one slightly swung cover of Michael Jackson’s late-years gem “You Rock My World.” Today, however, the Brooklyn r&b and hip hop outfit have dropped a very colorful new clip for the track that got that ball rolling on their impressive and ambitious Yesterday’s Tomorrow LP, “Why iii Love The Moon.”
The visual captures the motley musical crew making their way across the Brooklyn borough as a unit, cutting and weaving on bikes, leaving a neon afterglow in their wake; a breezy new visual to accompany these strangely warm pre-holiday nights. While the visual marks their third from the latest project, the grip of loose material that’s sitting on their Soundcloud page points towards another being on the way. And we certainly wouldn’t be mad about it. Watch as Phony PPL take to the Brooklyn streets in a new video for their smooth-as-silk celestial banger, “Why iii Love The Moon.” Grab a copy of their Yesterday’s Tomorrow LP on iTunes today if you’ve yet to indulge.
