It’s been a minute since we caught up with Brooklyn’s live and direct hip-hop and r&b outfit Phony PPL, but the crew’s back today with a herby new clip for their latest single off Yesterday’s Tomorrow “Smoke To Get Sober.” The video serves as a clear ode to those who find the stoniness of greener delights to be more grounding than uplifting, a neutralizer if you will, and pivots around a very smokey studio session, perfectly in sync with the cypher. And while we’re all still recovering from their ambitious 2014 release, it appears the Brooklyn six-piece has a new project on the way, currently titled NYT, which has already been previewed on their Soundcloud page. What’s more, the fellas have shows lined up in their hometown and Philly next month, so if you find yourself in either city, be sure to peep. We’ll be sure to have the latest from the net Phony PPL project as the new sounds and sights make their way through the internets, but you can hold yourself over with the video for “Smoke To Get Sober” below and brace yourself for the imminent contact.
