For LA-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Guillermo Brown, making music is a sort of exploration. With an open mind of deft drumming chops, the artist has been putting out a steady stream of audio-visual delight via the moniker Pegasus Warning. Steeped in his own free-spirited, collaborative approach, Brown turned Pegasus Warning into a sort of artists' hub, and now Okayplayer is very proud to present the next spoke in this wild wheel. "Building A Bridge," a starry and anthemic slice of R&B built on Brown's clear, confident vocals and the keen ear of Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Itai Shapira.

Brown brough Shapira under the umbrella of Pegasus Warning after the two met at a sunsoaked pool party (this is LA, after all). "People kept telling us we should get together and work," Brown said. "I went over to his place and just jumped on the organ and started playing--it all happened right then and there." Shapira captured and cut up Brown's keyboard work, and before long the "Bridge" had taken shape (the newly-founded duo recorded the entire track at Shapira's home studio). Filled with lush crescendos and layered vocals, "Building A Bridge" is at its heart a remarkably simple message. "In the song, I'm trying to make things happen--I'm reaching out to you. When you see me I'm going to building this connection, to move forward and on to something."

In Brown's own words, Pegasus Warning is "a comination of all different sounds and styles--it's a character, it's a god, it's an art project, it's a band. 'Building A Bridge' is a really sweet representation of my new sound and attention to detail." Brown searches for transformation, renewal and healing in his work, and the positive thrust within the new track is seeing him well on his way. 2015 holds plans for a major output of Pegasus Warning, as the word is there are roughly 30 songs floating around in Brown's artistic constellation. With influences like Mocky, Moses Sumney, Twin Shadow and Kelela, Pegasus Warning sets a course for exciting, unexplored R&B territory. Listen to "Building A Bridge" below and stay tuned for more from this young genre-bender.
