Legendary Singer Peabo Bryson Hospitalized After Suffering Heart Attack

The singer is in stable condition.

Peabo Bryson is currently in the hospital.

According to a report in TMZ, the 68-year-old singer-songwriter suffered a mild heart attack on Saturday at his home in Georgia. He is reportedly responsive.

"At this time, privacy is requested; however, the thoughts and prayers of friends and fans are welcomed and appreciated," A rep told TMZ.

At press time, it's unclear when Bryson will be released from the hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition.

The Grammy-Award-winning artist released his 21st album Stand for Love in August 2018.

Bryson has a hefty, hit-filled discography which includes the Aladdin theme song, “A Whole New World,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Feel the Fire,” and “Tonight I Celebrate My Love." In 1992, he won a Grammy for his performance of "Beauty and the Beast" with Celine Dion and in 1993 for "A Whole New World" with Regina Belle. Both songs also won Oscars for Best Original Song.

“Peabo is just one of the greatest voices of our time," record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis said in a joint statement last year according to Billboard. "He exudes a class and sophistication that’s so needed in music today.”

Bryson and his current wife Tanya Boniface welcomed a son on January 1, 2018.
