JuVee Productions, Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon‘s film, television, and digital production company, is looking to expand.
The production company, which launched in 2012, is embarking on a campaign to raise $250 million dollars. That money will be used to develop, produce, and distribute feature films and digital and branded VR content for a global audience.
JuVee Productions is a company that is committed to “producing narratives from a diverse range of emerging and established voices alike.” Diversity is something Tennon talked about when announcing this campaign:
“The shift in storytelling should be inclusive and we aim to make it a reality.”
The next projects from JuVee include the Viola Davis-lead movie The Personal History of Rachel DuPree; a biopic on congresswoman Barbara Jordan; and an ABC show titled The Zipcoders about a group of black teenagers in the ’60s who want to start a rock ‘n’ roll band.
Safe to say that the people behind JuVee Productions know what they’re doing.
