A new biopic treatment of Bruce Lee's formative years is on the way from his daughter, Shannon Lee, and filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee's daughter will serve as executive producer and co-writer along with Kapur, delving into the icon's adolescence in 1950s Hong Kong under the wing of fellow legend and mentor, Ip Man.

"I always thought that a film about how my father’s life was shaped in his early years in Hong Kong would be a worthwhile story to share so we could better understand him as a human being and a warrior."

The film is tentatively titled Little Dragon and THR has also revealed that a worldwide search for the lead is underway with production on the film beginning this very summer. No release date has been stated just yet, but once the appropriate pieces are in place (a cast, to start) that shouldn't be too much farther down the line. Keep your eyes on us for updates and in the meantime, you can always jump back and take a tour of his abandoned Hong Kong haunts. More to come in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned.
