Pass The Popcorn: Kevin Roper Indicted For Tracy Morgan Accident
Celebrated comedian Tracy Morgan has had an uphill battle after experiencing a life-threatening accident back in 2014.
Since then, the former Saturday Night Live standout performer has regained the usage of his body and mind, and has delivered laughter to millions again as an invited host for SNL. In addition to that, Tracy Morgan has gotten back into the acting spirit through roles in the upcoming Richard Pryor… Is It Something I Said? (as Redd Foxx) and Accidental Love (as Keyshawn).
The truck driver responsible for almost ending the life of Brooklyn’s favorite comedian, Kevin Roper, has been indicted by a grand jury. The accident took the life of fellow comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Wal-mart truck driver has been charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide, and third degree aggravated assault stemming from the 2014 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Before the charges came down, Roper’s attorney argued that a previous settlement between Walmart and Morgan could hurt his client’s chances at receiving a fair trial. Roper is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date. Roper had been awake for 28 hours on the night of the crash, according to a NTSB investigation following the accident.
