Open Mike Eagle and Oddisee link for another collaborative loosie, unveiling their extra smooth cut "Celebrity Reduction Prayer" off Mello Music Group's forthcoming Persona compilation. Mike delivers a thoughtful deconstruction of contemporary fame worship, riding supremely over the frothy piano-chops and super-smooth drums of his labelmate and resident beat constructor. The track offers yet another taste of the already impressive Persona LP (which has already graced us with choice musical linkage on wavy heaters like the Phonte-blessed "Requiem," also featuring and produced by The Odd One) and should have you chomping at the bit to get it into rotation with a list of features that includes Apollo Brown, Rapper Big Pooh, Quelle Chris, Oh No, Masta Ace and oh so many more. It also provides a quick follow-up to Mike's recently released and absolutely stellar A Special Episode Of EP, which has been getting plenty of burn as of late with features from Milo (of M&O,) Exile and Gold Panda.
