Pell makes good on his promise of more atmospheric "dream rap" with the OKP premiere of his debut full-length album Floating While Dreaming. We were introduced to the half-croon/full-fury styles of the NOLA by-way-of Mississippi youth just a few months back as he was making his way through Austin's gauntlet, but today it seems we're getting the full treatment of reverie-inducing funk. Though he hails from N'awlins, Pell's sonics are more an eclectic barrage of ethereal backpack-ish grooves than the raw bounce hallmark of the region.

He seamlessly and tactfully flips from affectionate wordsmith to hook-smashing crooner on exceptional cuts like "Morning Light" or the minimal guitar-laced melancholia of "Gibberish," recalling the dulcet transitions of crossover smashes like Frank Ocean, Drake or James Fauntleroy. Its a truly impressive inaugural full-length from the young bayou bomber, which only cements the fact that we'll be hearing a whole lot more from him soon.
