OkayProtest: Don't Go To Work! (It's May Day)

Welcome to May Day. For those of you sleeping in a snail shell, the #Occupy movement climbs out of it's winter cocoon tomorrow and bursts forth as a beautiful flock of… zillions of people in the street. With… a GUITAR ARMY (guitarmy?), a concert (Das Racist! Dan Deacon! Tom Morello! Immortal Technique!--and so many more.) Oh, and a general strike called for by a BAJILLION unions, community groups, and regular people like you. Seriously guys, this is huge.

Why are they striking? As they put it:

Because you could use a holiday.

Because you work too hard for not enough money.

Because this just isn't working anymore.

Because our struggles are one.

Above, ?uestlove, Moby, Kweli, (silent) Kanye West, Russell Simmons, Bilal, Angelique Kidjo, and Gbenga Akinnagbe (from The Wire!) stand in solidarity with the #Occupy protests on Wall Street and across the country.

For a full schedule of the (seriously) millions of activities going on all over NYC (and your city) tomorrow, go here. And we'll see you there.

After the jump, find some know-your-rights-type info, important if you are planning (or not) to get arrested:
