NYC: Come out to celebrate the birthday of the good reverend doctor Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday January 15th (you know you don't have work Monday, no excuses). This special evening will also honor the life of the late Gil Scott-Heron. "For over a decade, Gil Scott-Heron commemorated the day for Dr. King, which he was instrumental in getting recognized as a national holiday. " - so it is only fitting that both of these great men are honored together. You can look forward to performances from none other than Black Thought, DJ J.Period, and Gil's band The Amnesia Express.
