Notorious B.I.G. was referenced by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, who is also serving as one of the House impeachment managers.

A lyric from the late Notorious B.I.G. was quoted during Donald Trump's Senate impeachment trial on Tuesday.

The line — "And if you don't know, now you know" — was used by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries in response to a question Trump attorney Jay Sekulow asked Jeffries.

"Why are we here?" Sekulow asked Jeffries, to which he replied:

"We are here, sir, because President Trump corruptly abused his power and then he tried to cover it up. That is why we are here Mr. Sekulow. And if you don’t know, now you know."

The line is taken from the Biggie classic "Juicy." Jeffries was born in Brooklyn just like the late rap icon. Upon footage of the exchange between Sekulow and Jeffries surfacing online, a number of people have reacted to the Biggie reference.

In related news, Biggie will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. In a recent interview with Billboard, Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace spoke about the monumental moment for her late son:

“As a mother, I’m extremely proud of his accomplishments. You know, I still see such a young man at a young age, and sadly, he’s not here to witness all this. But it’s an astute honor, and as a mother, I’m just elated for that.”

“Many of [his songs] speak truth. It might be gritty, and maybe the language is so out there, but he was honest,” she added. “This legacy was trusted to me, and I have to respect it, I couldn’t walk away from his legacy, so I have to care for it, I have to love it, and I have to respect it.”
