Nick Cannon Didn't Get Canceled After All, Daytime Talk Show Is Back On

The show was postponed after comments Nick Cannon made on his Cannon's Class podcast series were criticized as being anti-semitic.

Nick Cannon had a daytime talk show in the works that was supposed to premiere last year. But after he was condemned for anti-semitic remarks he made on his Cannon's Class podcast series in July last year, the show was postponed. Now, the show is back on.

In a report from Deadline, Debmar-Mercury and Fox Television Stations are planning to launch the syndicated daytime talk show — Nick Cannon — in the fall.

"It's been a longtime dream of mine to host my own daytime talk show and that I’m able to do this in New York City, bringing daytime television back to the place that has fostered generations of talent, is very special to me," Cannon said in a statement. "With this show, we’ll be uniting all aspects of entertainment in a unique way in the very place where a lot of what we know today as our culture started. I couldn’t ask for better partners than Debmar-Mercury and Fox and thank them for supporting me in this endeavor."

Deadline also provided some details on the show, saying that it "promises to serve up a blend of celebrity interviews, comedy sketches, performances and pop culture dish."

Following the controversy he faced, Cannon apologized for his remarks and spent last year meeting with prominent rabbis and other Jewish leaders.

"While the Jewish experience encompasses more than 5,000 years and there is so much I have yet to learn, I have had at least a minor history lesson over the past few days and to say that it is eye-opening would be a vast understatement," he said at the time. "I want to express my gratitude to the Rabbis, community leaders and institutions who reached out to me to help enlighten me, instead of chastising me."
