Nas recently sat to explore his ancestry with Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. for the PBS series Finding Your Roots, coming face-to-face for the first time with his ancestors and the man who enslaved them. The episode, which featured the legendary Queens MC alongside actress Angela Bassett and presidential advisor Valerie Jarrett, found Nas staring down a Bill of Sale for his third great-grandmother Pocahontas Little. Digging a little deeper, Dr. Gates presents Nas with a few more photos and documents that serve up a serious gut punch. Check the footage below to get a taste of the big reveal.
