Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to Announce an Impeachment Inquiry Against President Donald Trump

Things are getting interesting.

It's been almost a year since the 2018 midterm election, in which Democrats took back the House of Representatives. During that stretch of time, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been hesitant to open impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump, despite the president's many corrupt activities.

That has changed.

According to reports, Pelosi will announce that she supports a formal impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

This new call for impeachment comes after an explosive report on Monday. The Washington Post reported that Trump told Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney to hold $400 million in aid for Ukraine in an effort to have the country investigate Joe Biden's son, Hunter (who worked in Ukraine.) Basically, asking a foreign country to aid at with his reelection campaign.

This comes as more than two-thirds of Democrats support impeachment. There are, on record, 166 Democrats who support some form of impeachment.

Even if impeachment happens, it is unlikely Trump would be removed from office. Republicans still have the majority in the Senate and you need majority support from the Houses and Senate to remove a president.
