Most Americans Want Barack Obama Back As President, Poll Shows

Live Stream President Obama's Farewell Address

It is only the second week of Donald Trump's presidency, and already most of the United States wants Barack Obama back.

In a report from Public Policy Polling, the survey revealed that 52 percent of Americans want Obama back as POTUS, while only 43 percent are happy to see Trump as the leader of the country. Other results from the survey also revealed that 40 percent of Americans wants to see Trump impeached, which is a five percent increase from only a week ago, when he was at 35 percent.

Considering that Trump has already done so much in just two weeks (we have kept a tally of his follies here) it is understandable why a little over half of the country wants Obama to lead the country again.

Trump has signed multiple executive orders since taking office, but the one that has received the most attention and controversy so far is his executive order on immigration. Being referred to as a "Muslim Ban" because of the countries listed in the order (Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya and Yemen, but no actual countries from which radicalized Muslims have actually killed Americans since the 9/11 attacks), the legislation has resulted in protests across the country, including one here in New York in which Yemeni-owned bodegas from across the city closed and protested.

Trump also seems to have some other really divisive policies waiting to be passed. This week, an executive order titled "Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom" was leaked. If signed, the law would legalize discrimination and back individuals and organizations from forfeiting "their religious freedom when providing social services, education, or healthcare; earning a living, seeking a job, or employing others; receiving government grants or contracts; or otherwise participating in the marketplace, the public square, or interfacing with Federal, State or local governments."
