Mixtape Mondays: Souls Of Mischief 20th Anniversary Mix, A1 Records + (Much) More

Mixtape Mondays

Mixtape Mondays returns this week with crazy sounds ( A LOT of crazy sounds--9 mixes in all) from across the map including mixes from Bloc Party, Peter Rosenberg x Nemo Achida, Analog Africa Soundsystem, DJ Lil' Dave and Personify as well as Malik Abdul-Rahmaan for A-1 Records' Radio Show Session #1518. We also vibe out to mixes from the homies at SoulBounce, Waxpoetics x Souls Of Mischief 20th Anniversary Mixtape and Anika x Stones Throw. Bloc Party kicks things off with a mix from frontman Kele Okereke that delves into the band's influences. Peter Rosenberg continues with a heater of a hip-hop mix before we jump into even more of the real with rare grooves from the continent as Analog Africa Soundsystem provide an amazing mix of joints for Gilles Peterson Worldwide. Lil' Dave and Personify keep things going with a mess of massive latin, funk and soul covers from the 60's forward. We keep it moving with a few more dope mixes before closing things out. Budding beat guru and vinyl junkie Malik Abdul-Rahmaan brings us home with a heavy dose of jazz in the latest episode of the A-1 Records Radio Show (New Yorkers and serious vinyl heads already knew: anything titled A-1 records is gonna be some heavy shit). Start your week off properly and click through to get a taste of what's cooking. .
