What if we told you it was actually 1995 and all the radios were playing nothing but rare and dusty beats? It's that sort of sonic universe that's present on The Wicked's latest mixtape, a "1995 Takeover" of KZSU Stanford radio is a 2 1/2 exposition of perfectly aged taste. From the rare and fantastic Nas cut that kicks it all off through joints from Kool G Rap, Pete Rock, Smif-N-Wessun to indie tape demos that damn near nobody owns, this is the stuff that jazz-tinged beat junkie dreams are made of.

Detroit resident Mista Monotone fired off some top-notch material on his "music to smack motherf*ckers to" mix, a selection of cuts from Mos Def & Ski Beatz, Rapper Big Pooh, Guilty Simpson and more. The prevailing rhyme and reason appears to be "incessantly aggressive" in both beat production and rhyme constructions, so press play and try to keep yourself peaceful as these joints get set to rumble.

New York-based selector Will Coloan has done it again with his "Cafe de la Coloan" series, blending modern electro and classic beats with creative aplomb. The familiar rhyme prowess of Common, vibrant tones of Kaytranada and indie soul of The Internet all get a little love, and Coloan keeps the vibe sufficiently smooth from beginning to end. If you're looking for a post-party chillout mix this weekend, look no further.

Straight outta Canada! Jimmi Riggz and D-Man have delivered a mixtape packed with North of the Border hip-hop, including Citizen Kane, Ghetto COncept and Brassmunk. It's a bit chilly but plenty tough and should fill you up with a bit of true patriot love.

Thankfully the folks at Soulection took time out from family gatherings to deliver yet another top-notch installment of their regular radio show. Futuristic beats, moody chord structures and melodies that go round and round in your head for days is what you can expect.

Nova Scotia selector Mistah Rapsey and Philadelphia mixmaker Cuurlzzz joined forces on a brand new mix, blending their respective knacks for hip-hop and soul grooves into a gorgeous hour of sound. Cuurlzzz leads off and Rapsey follows with what he described as an "homage to Erykah Badu"--it opens with the Zach Witness remix that originally caught her ear and only gets more Baduish from there. "I included a couple selections from her favourite albums by Jodeci and Mary McCreary," Rapsey said in an email. "Other than that I also included incredible new music from Froyo Ma, a l l i e, SEVDALIZA, and Beatboxbandit."
