The victim's sister believes the cop killed her because he was trying hide their affair.

A Mississippi cop has been fired after being charged with the murder of a black woman he was romantically involved with.

Matthew Kinne was fired from the Oxford Police Department according to NBC News. The 38-year-old is accused of fatally shooting 32-year-old Dominique Clayton in the back of her head. Clayton, a mother of four, was found dead by her 8-year-old son.

Clayton's relatives claim that she and Kinne, a white man, were in a relationship. In a separate report from Blavity, Clayton's sister, Shyjuan, claimed that Kinne didn't want his wife to find out about his relationship with Clayton.

"She was having an affair with Matt, the police officer with OPD," Shyjuan said. "(He was) real possessive and stalking her... kept sneaking in her house I guess he did this so he wouldn’t have to tell the wife."

"He bought my sister a car and kept it in his name," Shyjuan added. "He was about to get her a house. He just basically didn’t want his wife to find out."

A prosecutor told a judge that prosecutors and defense lawyers might agree next week on "reasonable" bail for Kinne. But Jeff McCutchen, Oxford's interim police chief, said Kinne "needs to be in jail."

"There is NO 'reasonable' bond, which can be set in this case," McCutchen said in a statement. "Matthew Kinne should not be released. He is a danger to our community and should not be released. We share in the frustrations of the community, stand with, and support the Clayton Family. This is about justice for Dominique Clayton."
