Pass The Popcorn: Miguel Joins The Cast Of Ben Affleck’s New Crime Drama

Miguel has proven time and again that he’s a natural in front of the camera. Whether he’s floating amidst the “waves” or fighting for love in “NWA,” the R&B mood-master has always handled videos with ease. Now, it seems that Miguel is cinematically sizing-up, as Deadline reports that he’s joined the cast of Live By Night, a new crime drama written and directed by Ben Affleck.

Affleck will also star in the film, which isn’t slated for release until 2017. Miguel will reportedly play Esteban, the brother of a woman caught up in the organized crime of Tampa, Florida. “Live By Night uses some of the characters from Lehane’s sprawling period novel The Given Day,” Deadline notes, “and brings them into Prohibition. The focus is Joe Coughlin (Affleck), the black-sheep son of a police captain who gets involved in escalating levels of organized crime.”

Also starring in the film are Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina and Zoe Saldana. We’ll keep you posted as more details on Live By Night (and specifically Miguel’s character) emerge. Pick up a copy of Wildheart on iTunes if you haven’t yet treated yourself to it.

Miguel Tour Dates:

Nov 03 @ Studio Coast – Koto, Japan
Nov 04 @ Hatch – Osaka Shi, Japan
Nov 07 @ Celebrity Theatre – Phoenix, AZ
Nov 09 @ University of Kentucky – Lexington, KY
